2022 was a year that Hollywood struggled to get audiences back in theaters, with many great films going unseen due to changing habits as a result of the pandemic. However, some films, including the year’s top grossing movie, Top Gun: Maverick and the indie breakout sensation, Everything Everywhere All At Once, broke that trend. In our year-end review, we take a look at the best movies of the year, highlighting hits and sleepers that are worth checking out.

Some actors i just can't stand anymore, one of them is Tom Cruise, i lost him prob before or after Mission Impossible 3, when i heard he mistreated his wife Katie Holmes because he is all up the scientology ranks… and she wanted to get out with her daughter. His role in tropical thunder is somewhat funny tho. But no Tom Cruise as lead role for me plz!! !
I just be missing something when it comes to glass onion. I was never bored but it felt empty and pointless towards the the end.
Possibly the WORST list of 2022..
Did you ACTUALLY see any films outside of the Hollywood band-wagon!?
‘Rian Johnson’s scripts are so well organised’
Un-sub-wankered….
All Quiet on the Western Front is a definite top 3 for me
Right, because the pandemic is still relevant today🤣 never mind that No Way Home, Maverick, and now Avatar 2 plus have crossed the billion dollar mark at the box office. Can't blame the fictional virus for box office failures anymore, Hollywood. Just admit when you make a bad movie that tells the audience they're wrong about a particular thing.
I din't like any of the films I've seen from this year. Lots of very neatly, I have to admit, disguised ideoloy. Banshees of Inisherin — pretentious wannasaysomethingbutinfacthavenothingtosay film —, Everything Everywhere All at Once — new age propagandaforthemassesnowthatintellectualshavebeenconvinced film —, Triangle of Sadness — leftish aka another ideological trip, or even better a tryingtoconvinceIcanexplainthetruesideofhistoryandyouhavetolistentomeyoubuffoon film.
Really? Glass Onion on this list? 🤣
Glass onion was the worst movie …. nothing made sense
I really don't understand why people love Knifes out… I mean the whole thing is filled with "oh come on" like jokes that suck and not funny, while it tries to do so mutch but actually does nothing. The characters are overplayed as fuck and the movie as a whole is just a pure big bad bullshit… Especially the ending. I had so big hopes, everyone hyped it, the cast was great and then a huge disappointment, I don't even bother watching Glass onion.
Top Gun Marvick, Avatar 2, and Pinocchio are the only movies I cared for out of this list
uh almost only trash movies in the list 😀
If You have yet to see RRR, I highly recommend it before the Oscar.
The Banshees Of Inisherin, Tar, The Menu and The Northman are very underrated and just hidden gems. Thanks for Including them in your list. Very good list. My Top 10 are these mothers
10) Disenchanted. I wasn't sure what to Make of this film at first but once I sat down and watched it, I was pulled into the film. There is a good balance between good and bad Giselle and the film as a whole is very character driven. Amy Adams is amazing as always, but I was very taken by Maya Rudolph's performance.
9) Tar. I like there is a film that talks about Cancel Culture or as I like to say bullshit and that the main character comes off as a real person The film's dark humor really makes the film work. It is something I definitely need to see again, and it is a film that has to have a conversation about after seeing it.
8) Violent Night. Die Hard meets home alone and takes place at Christmas time and is truly a Christmas movie…as is Die Hard! That being said this version of Santa makes me want to know more about him and the performances are top notch. Bring the damn sequels already.
7) Dio: Dreamers Never Die. I saw this at the end of the year. I loved it. It explores the life of a true artiest gone too fucking soon, man. Dio's music has always been powerful to find out some of the things about his voice and struggle was brilliant. Go watch this documentary. you won't regret it.
6) The Menu. What happens when the artist is feed up with pleasing their crowd? The Menu happens. It's a perfect film. In my opinion. It keeps you hooked every actor is fantastic in their role. The film from start to finish is literally perfect.
5) Pearl. This film spoke to me. Mia Goth is incredible. she may be my favorite performance of the year. X gets the praise it truly deserves but this film needs it as well. It's not a throw away or anything. Her monologue is what makes this film. So beautiful that monologue is.
4) Elvis. I hate biopics because they are all the same. The Dirt did something different and so did Elvis. I hear there is a 4 hour cut, I want that shit like a drug addict needs a hit. Austin Butler is Elvis. I look forward to seeing him in more film
3) Everything Everywhere All At Once. It's weird, it's funny, it makes sense and is better than fucking Doctor Strange 2. Which says a lot about where the MCU is now. This a fantastic story about mother and daughter, husband and wife and is truly all at once and still makes sense. The message of the film is: be kind. To your daughter, wife, husband, everyone.
2) The Batman. This film is what The Dark Knight Trilogy wanted to be. Which is a realistic portrayal of Batman that is truly based on the comics. This felt like I was watching The Batman from the books that I read. It actually takes it's time to tell its story. He solves riddles as they are being giving and actually shows up at crime scenes and works with Gordon hands on with a lot of. he is a detective. I love how the film brings out the man more and makes him fallible. He so focused on the end result, ridding Gotham of crime that and being vengeance that he is not present. the performance, directing, cinematography, the music, everything works. This Batman goes on a journey for Vengeance to a hopeful Knight.
1) Terrifier 2. I have to give massive praise to a film that beat out perfect films like The Batman and The Menu that had a lot going against it in my opinion, as well as telling an amazing story that makes you want more. I don't just love this film for the blood and gore which is beautifully fucked up I really enjoy the story and the characters. The ending to this leaves a lot to explore and I want and have to know more. It's one of the things that keeps me coming back. This is a unique film that has to be seen.
I guess I'm out to lunch, bud! You know, is really impossible to try to compare every person who had ever played Batman because each movie was vastly different. Adam West portrayed camp, Michael Keaton's was a Burton comicbook, Christian Bale was true to life. The Batman was not a superhero movie. It was a movie about a serial killer that had Batman in it. And for the version of Bruce Wayne Robert Pattinson played (I can't believe I'm saying this) it was the best damaged and broken Bruce Wayne yet. That said, maybe try not to compare them to each other and appreciate each one for the story they tell.
Michael Bay fans should check out "Ambulance". It's one of his good ones.
I'm wondering if I saw the same movie as I thought Top Gun II was mediocre at best and I was a huge Top Gun fan. Better than the new Star Wars trilogy but not by much. I'd rate it a 5.5 out of 10. It's OK but nothing special.
I'm so glad Prey isn't on the list. It was so overrated AF
Hollywood stars are destroying everything that anyone actually cares about, Most Americans go home after working 8 to 12 hours A-day to sit there and actually watch movies. Not care about how politics are destroying America or people at all.
Glass Onion: deserves a second viewing. The Menu wasn't too bad either

Your Pantheon contains something like 500 Directors, right?
Dreaming to make money by doing nothing I press dislike for the last part where wasted time
I'm happy you mentioned Devotion as it is a brother to Top Gun Maverick <3
Avatar 2 I disagree with only. Long, boring story. Too much like that first Avatar. Visual spectacular for sure but it is not enough to win me over like the first Avatar I did. It was revolutionary back in it's time, this one is just slightly enhanced.
WHERE IS PUSS IN BOOTS BROO
Robert Is the best Batman not even close
Bro why is no one putting the Batman on their list?
clip vidéo action movie https://youtu.be/X41CbiH92JI
Kerry Condon is Octavio from Rome you fukin pleb
wait, tár was 3 hours long? i didnt notice at all lmao. ok maybe a better movie than i´d have said.
Solid list…. del Toro's Pinocchio should've been higher for sure. Definitely "The Banshees" did get hurt by his last film "3 Billboards…" It was way overrated. Basically Frances McDormand acting like an a-hole for 2 hours.
How could anyone take Christian Bale seriously as batman? Robert is way better imo
Are you Mr. Skin??????
Another un sterling year for entertainment across the board. But at least, though not a film, there was God of War Ragnarok ( which had enough cutscenes in it to be movie like, which is where games have been headed anyways). I did like the new Batman movie, but it was a lot different. It had a kinda Dick tracy feel for how weird The Penguin lookied, and I could not even tell it was Colin Ferrel ffs lol. Still not the best, but its in the top 3 now fer sure. Northman was pretty cookie cutter, because lets face it…its just viking stuff. No biggie. I dont even wanna see most of the rest of the films tbh. And the Tom Hanks Pinnocchio was a huge pain to watch. I hated it. The Menu is a film I still need to see, but MOVIES THAT WERE BETTER THAN MOSTO F THOS ON THIS LIST< but were left out for some reason: Sonic the Hedgehog 2, which was better thn the first film to a point, and Barbarian which was…not bad honestly. Spirited was at times more entertaining than many of the films on Joblo's list, but it kept getting derailed with random nonsense and was so unfocused, my family and I were groaning, waiting for it to be over at the half way point. There were no doubt some other films I saw that came out in 2022, but that Banshees of Inershin or whaterver its called film justl ooks boring and dreary. And my Irish cousin even saw it and said it was morose and a downer that was a waste of time. So I am taking him at his and his wifes word lol. Happy NEw YEar though, yall. 😛
If a movie has: THE MESSAGE.
I won't watch it, those are trash.
He mentions a reason why Top Gun was so good and made so much money was because there was no message, the writers weren’t telling the audience they were wrong about something, and they made a movie just to be entertaining for a couple hours. I don’t understand how the rest of Hollywood can’t understand this.
This man seen thousands of movies
Disappointed at the lack of Puss in Boots and the Last Wish on this list 😤
RRR should have been on this list but Indian films especially South Indian films are often overlooked.
avatar and batman were the best in my opinion. especially avatar, made me cry like a little baby
I belive that All quiet on the western front comes first then Top gun!!
The way you guys are soooooo faaaaar inside disney´s ass, when the best tv show list come out She Hulk will be on top 1.
