Someone has to fix that messy deluxe edition of Elton John's Goodbye Yellow Brick Road. Spend top dollar for an album we've had for 50 years and get a bunch of cover versions??? AND without original artwork. Pure garbage. I want a full concert, original artwork, outtakes, b-sides. And I know I'll be getting in on that Ragged Glory album and the just announced PF DSOTM.
Stones singles on coloured vinyl? What has this got to do with the music? Don’t they have enough money? This is overkill.
Quite a few of these i hope to pick up this year. Was wondering if you were able to get the recently releasrd Humble Pie box set?
I would love to see a 50th anniversary of Queen. Ace doing another Origins album wouldn't be bad. I wonder if he will recreate any other Kiss songs as he has done before on the other two origin albums.
Ragged Glory, what a great album, everything that every Horse fan could ever want at the time. But oh no what is this, yet another re release of 700 different ( but actually the same) versions of the album that you never knew that you needed.
Just Neil Young pissing all over his legacy (and his loyal fan base) as he cashes in on his back catalogue before popping his clogs.
Also, I want a Queen rarities collection with songs like Polar Bear and Silver Salmon
Peter Gabriel will be releasing his first new album in many years.I noticed that this wasn't mentioned in the recent look ahead to releases for 2023.Really enjoying the You Tube videos. 😀
Good overview i am still hopeful of a re release of Clapton’s 24 Nights with full orchestral and blues nights Blu rays etc
A band who rarely get mentioned these days (and are criminally underrated) have a 3-cd box set out in a couple of weeks : The Heavy Metal Kids. Due a feature on this superb channel, surely 😉.
There was a reissue of Billion Dollar Babies in 2001 with a second CD which contains a live concert though no extra studio tracks
Ragged Glory💪💪💪
I have pre-ordered Blackmore`s Night `Shadow of The Moon` and looking forward to listening to this album on vinyl. The Springsteen album sounds interesting I shall look out for that thanks. Agree that Billy Joel`s back catalogue could do with a bit of attention!
Mr Gabriel's got one coming too
I really want the Ragged Glory box, but he's been teasing that for going on five years now! Every year since he announced it, I've been hoping this is the year!! We'll see. 🤣 Gotta love Neil. Would really love to hear some new Kinks, ZZ Top, and Bad Company. I'm pretty excited for the new albums from Iggy, Metallica, and from the new crop of classic rock bands Siena Root. Also not a new release, but am really hoping AC⚡️DC give us one last world tour. I have never gotten to see them and I need to
Huge Dream Theater fan. I always invest my attention towards they're new stuff. You mentioned 3 CD set. Hmmm….I'm thinking a live set. Bad Company sounds very interesting too. I hope Floyd does do something with Dark Side. Even if Alice Cooper (but I doubt he will) does something with Billion Dollar Babies…one of my favorite albums, I'd be happy. However, you really got me salivating over Queen doing something for the 50th of their debut. OMG!!! Let's hope they can dig something up from the good old days and put it together. I do realize that some of the BBC stuff has already been released but you have to believe that there is more hanging around. Hopefully. Anyhow, thanks as always.
What about an all analog edition of DSOTM? Not necessarily a box set with additional stuff just a straight up all analog reissue with the posters and stickers.
Already pre ordered the Dokken vinyl box set
Ragged glory is fabulous Neil and crazy horse along with weld!…oooooh 👌gazz
You might want to look at medicine Ball Caravan. It has an ancient vid of Alice performing Black Juju.
Im looking forward to Thin Lizzys Live and Dangerous expanded collection. Theres Riversides new album out soon. Bad Company is interesting too, i would love to see Paul Rogers live.
Love you wishlist/Speculation list. Yea nothing for Aluce Cooper Billy Joel. But I do know that there is a 50th David Bowie Aladdin Sane album. But it's just a repress on 180gram vinyl.
If Neil releases Ragged Glory or Mirrorball this year I will be 1) ecstatic and 2) in disbelief. Wasn’t the ragged glory expanded reissue “supposed” to have been released circa 2018/2019?? I don’t understand Neil’s choices where reissuing his catalogue is concerned. The four I want more than any are the utterly imperious Weld and Unplugged sets, Ragged Glory and Mirrorball. They would sell by the bucketload. But for some reason, Neil keeps ignoring them! Broken Arrow would also be most welcome. It’s a massive source of frustration to me!!!
One thing I like about the Jethro Tull box set reissues, is that not only are they well done, you don't have to sell a kidney to buy them, all of them so far have been fairly priced.
I'd love a deluxe edition of Queen although it would hammer the wallet.
Keep up the stellar work for the year ahead, I appreciate it.
From some PF sources a DSotM box is coming in 2023.
Nice but with a big miss – Peter Gabriel's album I/O with tour dates already scheduled for 201! – Happy new year!
… forgot about JCS, the movie soundtrack… anything ?
Thanks a lot for this great insight about all the next coming year releases. Have a good 2023. ps: anything about Genesis' Selling England… ?
I cannot wait for Riverside's newie in January. For me the great find over the last 30 years since discovering the Ozric Tentacles back in '93. Hope the new Tull album will be an improvement of the rather dullish previous one which still comes across as an I.A solo.
Can Pink Floyd pulling off some surprise for the DSOTM anniversary? Well, they have often mistaken pessimism for optimism and their management seem to be in disarray if the 'Animals' release is anything to go by. One prog name you missed in the rumour section was Jon Anderson, it is rumoured his '1000 hands Pt2' is due in spring. '1000 Hands Pt 1' was first released 2019 and found distribution summer 2020. It is still a corker of an album.
I will buy the Ace Frehley Origins Vol 3. Hope he tours again.
Best Dylan song evar* Bob Dylan Blues – Syd Barret

Fun stuff here as always, but no mention of Sabbath the Tony Martin years? I keep waiting, and waiting, and waiting, and…
A Broadsword box set would be great! A lot of "unreleased" material from those sessions has already been out on various box sets over the years. Hopefully there's more in the can.
Jethro Tull – the Broadsword Deluxe sounds great; 2CD Ragged Glory – Neil young.; Didn't mention the new Peter Gabriel album; A new Kinks album sounds interesting; Transatlantic Final Flight live album coming out in Feb; The Tangent live; The new Dylan collection.
As for the new releases, The Robert Palmer "Island Years" box is the one for me (that's the good, 70s Palmer, and something like this is looonnng overdue)
But the cooler thing is thinking about Super Deluxe possibilities. Here's few 50ths for me, from '73… baker's dozen, it looks like:
1. ALADDIN SANE (Bowie) the most realized and salaciously impactful Ziggy. Such an awesome, powerful sound here. Ronson up in the mix, Garson in full out brilliance, that excellent rhythm section (Trev/Woody) and of course, DB delivering the goods in spectacular fashion! An album of stellar, fantastic numbers from guitar-centric start (Watch that Man) to glittering, emotional finish (Lady Grinning Soul)! Would be a killer deluxe set!
…A MainMan Artist. RCA
2. SABBATH BLOODY SABBATH (Black Sabbath) –Top shelf Sabbath, could be, and probably is, my very favorite Sab slab. And hey, we all know it should be the next in line anyway. Imagine the packaging!
3. THE CAPTAIN AND ME (Doobie Brothers) their best album, would look beautiful in Super Deluxe form too!
4. OVERNITE SENSATION (Zappa & The Mothers) A most favorite Zappa for me…full of bad ass riffs, killer solos, tons of wit/humor…and great songs! It's still a monster! Or maybe better said, a Woof.
5. RAZAMANAZ (Nazareth) Look, just plug in!
6. MOTT (Mott The Hoople) my fave MTH. As an American kid, the group shot cover is obviously a bit more nostalgic…and "glam rock righteous" in my mind. Obviously both offered.
7. KISS (Kiss) big black & chrome studded classic! Would be a gorgeous release. And could be filled with audio gems, a drool inducing hard cover book & wildly cool ephemera. Bring it!!
8. FOR YOUR PLEASURE (Roxy Music) Great, involving album from a brilliant band at their best. This one should rightfully (finally) follow that excellent debut deluxe set! Elegant, highly effective, 'black panther including' cover art would be stellar for a Super D as well.
9. COUNTDOWN TO ECSTASY (Steely Dan) the great Steely Dan albums are getting some excellent treatment now (can't recall the label), but for sure, any of them in deluxe form would be fantastic. Can you imagine a big black AJA box in 4 years? Wow!
10. QUADROPHENIA (The Who) epic double album, made for such treatment. Love to get lost inside the gin soaked waters of Quadrophenia. This wasn't done already, was it? Never mind, I'll ask the bell boy (so long as he's not hanging a loop off the fire escape) 🥂
11. SWEET FANNY ADAMS (Sweet) Killer album, top to bottom. And many delicious B-sides, etc. available, make this a wonderful, fist pumping choice!
12. YESSONGS (Yes) some crazy big thing for Yessongs is a must. Another "I'm made for this kinda thing" selection. Honestly, I'm feeling 'Roger Dean Drunk' already at the very thought of it.
13. TRES HOMBRES (ZZ Top) and the inclusion of a nice Mexican variety plate, served by a lovely (and quite friendly) psychedelic Flamenco dancer type girl… well, that would just put this over the top (over the "zz" top? 🙊. I guess that's "a bit" much to ask, but as our always insightful and delightful host said, "just wishful thinking" there.
Obviously, some nice ones have already (to some extent) been done: Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, Goats Head Soup, Dark Side of The Moon, TANX, Houses of The Holy, etc.)
But lemme tell ya, I love the suggestion of the QUEEN debut!
Baby, would that be awesome as well! And another album cover absolutely birthed for this kind of aesthetic glory!

my understanding that next year the first Manassas (Stephen Stills ) extended will be released !
There were rumors of the Genesis Live At The Lyceum In London 1980 nothing yet. Live PF animals/wish you were here would be nice. Some years ago Springsteen recorded several studio albums live in an empty theater which have never shown up.
its getting interesting now with the vinyl revival – looking through your records and updating or infilling with new pressings. thanks for the video sir!
