I have high hopes for i/o, the first single is great.
The Cure and MBV would be a big deal for me but I’ll believe it when I see it. And the last two Cure albums would lead me to manage my expectations quite heavily.
Also looking forward to Lana, The National and Bat for Lashes among a few others
I recently found your channel and I am really enjoying it! Any talk about doing a ranking of the Kansas discography?
Listened the first part of ATUM…I still feel ill. Damn it sucks. Pretty curious about Peter Gabriel though.
No love for Paramore huh?
Peter Gabriel, Morrissey, Noel Gallagher. I didn't know PJ Harvey was releasing a new album , so PJ Harvey too.
Jason you going to the Pittsburgh Lemon Twigs date, I'm guessing? I'm going too. And trying to get my band on as support lol
So stoked for White Reaper and Paramore in the next couple of months!
The Stones are supposed to be putting out a new album this year.
No mention of the new Lovebites album but I guess there's not a lot of Wolfpack people here
The new Gorillaz is by far my most anticipated one so far. I think Steve Vai is supposed to be dropping something as well.
whoa mbv?
Also, scientists have estimated that people who see a lot of love music tend to live longer, so it looks like Kramzer’s probably gonna outlive you, Jason & Joe lol
I’m SUPER excited for Yo La Tengo’s This Stupid World coming out this February! I love those three people, they can do no wrong! 🙂
Buy hats, not vinyls, this Frat boy Thug look is not ideal!
QOTSA…which will hopefully be better than the throughly disappointing ‘Villains’
Seeing Billy Joel do MSG as part of his monthly residency there on Valentine’s Day and one of Crowded House’s rescheduled dates from last fall upcoming in May
New Skating Polly. Finally, after 5 years
Metallica and Depeche Mode definitely since they already got the dates for their new albums! Can't wait for The Cure and A7X for sure. Green Day also confirmed their new album to be released in 2023.
I've compiled a good sized list of things I will be checking out if/when they come. A lot of the confirmed ones coming up I am looking forward to checking out – H.C. McEntire (was unfamiliar but the other day I checked out the singles and really liked them), Guided By Voices, Andy Shauf, Yo La Tengo, Tennis, Jill Barber, Lana Del Rey. Some that don't have confirmed dates I am looking forward to seeing are The Lemon Twigs, Jessie Ware, Dua Lipa, Jenny Lewis, Mudhoney, Superdrag, MGMT.
But what I am most looking forward to are the surprises. The bands I've never heard of or spent a lot of time listening to that will release albums that I will like or even love and the releases yet to come that we don't know about yet. I'm excited for the possibilities of a new year.
For shows, I am seeing Sloan at the end of this month and possibly Andy Shauf in a couple weeks if I don't end up having to work that weekend.
Oh, the antici…pppation! 💋

Good news about PJ Harvey. Ian Hunter's new record is forthcoming apparently. And Springsteen mentioned releasing a box set of five unreleased albums from the '90s, hopefully in 2023.
Depressing list until The Lemon Twigs got a mention! Not that that’s your fault. Hopefully Cheap Trick will release something this year. Have you done their discography?
Just received The Red Hand Files issue # 217 and Nick Cave started writing a new album to be made with The Bad Seeds on January, the 1st. That's for sure the record I'll be desperately looking forward to. Guy is the goat in my book. Never misses!
glad to see Andy Shauf's upcoming record here! Loved his new tunes
Most looking forward to Caroline Polachek. The singles so far have been great. Also seeing Alvvays for the first time in May so that should be fun.
Gaz Coombe album sounds promising. Pumpkins, yes. PJ Harvey. Secret Machines. BJonestown Massacre has been a hit or miss. Shame is a great band; they have one coming. King Gizzard will release another 14 albums next year. And – the word is that the Rolling Stones will actually put out that last' real album. Not the Live thing, but a proper one.
Everything But The Girl are due to release their first album since 1999's Temperamental in the Spring. Ben's and Tracey's solo albums in the intervening years have been excellent – so promises to be a good one.
Peter Gabriel released the first single from I/O today. So yes, 2023 may be the year!
New Ladytron, Steve Mason, and Teleman soon !!
I hope you make it out to the Queensryche show, Kramzer. They are such an incredible band! I'm also really hoping we finally get the new Cure album this year. It's maddening how long it's taken, but the new material they played live last year suggests that it will be well worth the wait.
With the release of "Fragments" coming out at the end of this month, you guys should consider reviewing Bob Dylan's Bootleg series this year.
Oh, the new Lana Del Rey album will be a must-listen as well!
There's enough music from the golden age of rock, like 65-77ish for me to still discover, so really don't care too much about any new releases. With that said a few albums you mentioned I will probably listen to, and I'm going to listen to the new Iggy Pop release some of these days since he's one of my favourite artists (or at least used to be).
Edit:
I know Bruce Springsteen has been talking about four-five lost albums from the 90s that he's going to release. Since that was his weakest decade I can't say I'm too thrilled and like many others I'd prefer a Tracks 2 or Born in the U.S.A./electric Nebraska release, but I'll still listen to 'em.
Midnights 2 from Taylor Swift🤣😂🤣
Uriah Heep – Chaos & Colour.
Peter Gabriels new.
Metallica – 72 Seasons.

Jan-Feb. confirmed 2023 releases that I am most looking forward to:
1. Guided by Voices – La La Land (1/20; I’ve gotten all of the 34+ studio albums GBV have released, so why would I stop now? Not my most anticipated album, but I’m sure there will be a few more classic songs to add to my ever-growing GBV ultimate playlist)
2. F***ed Up – One Day (1/27; I’ve enjoyed all of the teasers released so far; it’s basically a mix of hardcore/prog/indie rock that I’ve always enjoyed from these guys; one of my go-to bands since the mid-2000s)
3. Caroline Polachek – Desire, I Want to Turn Into You (2/14; great album artwork, and also easily my most anticipated pop release of early 2023; there are already many teaser tracks available)
4. Algiers – Shook (2/24; post-punk/soul hybrid that is strikingly unique; their last album was a bit weaker than the first two, but I think this will be a good comeback)
– I will give the new Yo La Tengo album a shot, but their last two have been really bad.
-Swans are also supposed to drop an album this year, so that will also be on my must-have list once further details emerge. Like Kramzer, I would be very happy with new albums by My Bloody Valentine and PJ Harvey.
-I’ve always been indifferent towards the likes of Lana Del Rey and Andy Shauf, but I will give those albums a shot to see if I can add anything to my 2023 playlist.
Yo La Tengo
PJ Harvey
Meg Baird
John Cale
Gina Birch
R.Ring
The Mekons have, reportedly, been in the studio. That would be my number one most anticipated release.
Sparks
Death Valley Girls
Robert Forster
Happy New Year! These are the ones I'm most excited about (so far):
Depeche Mode, The Cure, Peter Gabriel, PJ Harvey, Steven Wilson, Haken, Swans, Riverside, and Lana Del Rey.
Margo Price has a new record coming out next week, and The Hold Steady have one at the end of March. I'll be checking those out.
After hearing what Kram sneaked in at the end of that video, a Queensryche countdown would be good to hear on this channel. There are a lot of post-DeGarmo albums to wade through, however.
The Cure played a few new songs at the tour, so I'm hopeful that we'll finally see an album release. Very excited for this one.
Also excited about Kali Malone's three-hour Covid record Does Spring Hide Its Joy. She's brilliant.
I WAS excited about Iggy Pop's new album, but after hearing the first songs I ain't anymore. Can't deal with this production at all. It sounds like Iggy had to wear a shirt or something.
In 2022 Nina Nastasia finally returned with a wonderful album after 12 years of silence, so I hope I get to see her live.
As mentioned by all three of you, I'm looking forward to the new Peter Gabriel album, which I believe is titled "I/O"
The first track "Panopticom" has already dropped and it's pretty good.
Honourable mention goes to The Rolling Stones, who are releasing a 3 disc live album in February from their 50th anniversary tour "GRRR"
Stones live albums are few and far between as I believe they only released seven last year 🙄
The chances of My Bloody Valentine releasing an album this year is less than Neil Young releasing at least 10 different releases this year. I’m pretty sure Kevin Shields is the worst and least reliable source of accurate info in the music sphere. He constantly states that things are in the works, but nothing ever happens. MBV being released was an absolute miracle. It’s the Halley’s Comet of releases
Just listened to Panopticom, the recently released new single by Peter Gabriel. Quite good but not excellent on a first listen
