At least we get to play Golf 98 this time
please give us that mario wallpaper😭
Cathy the comic strip finished on October 3, 2010. Foxtrot Finished on December 30, 2006. Doonesbury, Garfield and Peanuts are still active.
Play ball!
Back then we didn't have internet and not that many games. For the most part this was how I played with the computer- changing themes, listening to the sounds, watching the screen savers, not to mention Paint and Encarta Encyclopedia. Good times, good times…
What was this 0777… trick you seemed to do with the activation code at 4:26? Is this some kind of generic code thing you can enter for any MS product of around that age?
too bad that Nintendo Switch doesn't let you set a custom wallpapers on it, or that mario star thing would be perfect as one. 😂
Back then it felt like windows gave you something of value. Nowadays it feels like windows is taking from you, your data, personal info, contacts etc, less and less is included, one find oneself attempting to avoid using it and uninstalling crap vs installing extras.
I remember the Space theme! I got hand-me-downed my dad's win98 pc and recall this was his fave theme because he's a trekkie. You sir just unlocked a memory in my mind.
There was one thing missing, in disk cleanup there was an add on for registry cleaner but it was accessed in disk cleanup app.
Windows 10/11 is an embarrassment compared to this
the deluxe CD player was shipped with windows 2000 by default
what the fuck… that ad read transition was so flawless it should be classified as a jumpscare
Can you make the Picture Downloadable?
9:20 The golf game’s voiceover sounds strangely like modern text-to-speech, even though I know TTS was nowhere near that good in 1998
So…Can we just have a video of you playing Spider Solitair until you beat it?
I remember that marbles game!!!!! You just brought up a memory suppressed so far in my head. I remember my uncle installing Windows 98 Plus one day and I remember sitting there in awe with my jaw on the floor when I saw the "Plus" logo on the splash screen. Thanks for this vid.
Merry Christmas!
ahh the memories i was playing lose your marbles the other day what a throwback
16:52 I don't know if in Windows 98 the wrong click always turns on Outlook Express. I think I've had the same experience 300,000 times.
512 MB RAM was unheard of, most systems were 128 MB or 64 MB. It was rare to even have 256 MB. That screensaver performed too poorly to use without disabling everything else running in the background.
Merry Christmas!
