It’s the final days before Christmas in early 1940s Cleveland, and 9-year-old Ralphie wants one thing from Santa Clause more than anything else: a Red Ryder Carbine Action Air Rifle. As he trudges through the snow to school, faces the neighborhood bully and visits a malevolent department store Santa Clause, Ralphie connives, conspires and campaigns for the most fabulous Christmas present ever in this heartwarming, hysterical and sweetly nostalgic holiday film.

wow
I was very lucky to have grown up in the 1950s and for the most part, our lives mirrored this existence only set in West Michigan. At that time we lived in Grand Rapids and the hokey annual Santa Claus Parade was held in downtown G.R. that ran the route by all the major department stores then which had store window front displays. The City went all out with decorations on the streetlight poles, with garlands, bows, spotlights shown in the sky, strings of lights draped across the main street, and Santa Bell Ringers by the Salvation Army Pots. We saw Santa in one of two leading competing Department Stores… and animated animals, snowmen, elves, people in costumes, Christmas displays, vendors selling fresh hot caramel corn with peanuts, roasted nuts, candies, chocolates, and confections, as well as hot spiced cider and doughnuts. In school we had Santa Claus come to all the school rooms and hand each kid a big Florida Belly Button Orange and a fat peppermint stick. My sister and I saved them and proudly took them home to share with Mom and Dad. They were real treats then. Our school always had a big temporary ice skating ring outside for the local kids to skate on with a warming shack to thaw those frozen toes, hands, and faces. Our school sat upon a hillside and the kids would slide down the slopes during recess and on weekends. Those times are gone now and will never happen again.
I just paid $3.99 to watch this movie! First time ever that I am paying for it! But I MUST see it! Lol
Love it
2022.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
First Christmas without my dad. We'd always have this playing in the background on the channel that played it all day. Just like Ralphie's dad, my father was hardworking, hilarious, and taught me how to swear and so much more. I miss you dad this holiday isn't the same without you.

This movie didn't play, but it had sound, how I get my money back
Christmas tradition to watch this movie every year. I love it so much! It's better than "It's A Wonderful Life". I always have to watch this movie and "White Christmas". Merry Christmas to everyone! 🎄❄⛄🌟✝
Got to say, Merry Christmas 🤶 🎄 ❤️ and may the world break out in peace instead of the way we're going.
He got it easy with the soap! Looks brand new. When I was a kid I’d get soap in the mouth but my mother made sure it was heavily used and mushy, never out the box.
Watching this on repeat for the next 24 hours
Ralphie's little brother essentially was the kid that set the trend of t-posing.
I actually saw this on the big screen when it first came out, and I have always loved it! Except for Mom's hair – it didn't fit the times….
Oh FUUUDDDDGEEE
Nostalgia
I try to watch this every few years.. My youth was in the 80's so I can relate in many ways.. A Great Classic
I WATCH THIS EVERY YEAR FAVORITE
This one is my favorite movies of all time!!!!!!
Why can't I download my movies that I purchased directly to my laptop? I don't always have an internet connection and should be allowed to download my videos directly to my device of choice, not just my phone. Who wants to watch a movie on a phone when sitting at your house and you have lots of people that want to watch it with you?
Set in northern IN , not Cleveland.
Christmas story is my favorite ❤ movie.
I saw it in the theaters on the week it was released….I went back and paid the admission 2 more times during it's run.
…My viewings have only increased since then, of course.
